COLUMBIA, S.C. (October 26, 2006) — Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company has been selected as the voluntary benefits provider and the benefits communication and enrollment team for HealthConnect Systems in California, the leading online network for buyers and sellers of health insurance and employee benefits. “Our relationship with HealthConnect Systems brings several advantages to insurance brokers in California,” says Ryan Whittaker, a Colonial sales representative in Orange County, Calif. “Colonial can help brokers develop voluntary benefits strategies for their clients and deliver new and creative benefits solutions. At no direct cost to brokers or employers, Colonial’s professional team can conduct face-to-face, enroller-assisted enrollments for Colonial products only or for core enrollments that include Colonial products. “For core enrollments, our enrollers will communicate and enroll employees face-to-face in their core benefits selections through HealthConnect Systems,” Whittaker says. “Employees will be able to enroll in both their core benefits and select additional voluntary benefits at one time.”
Effective benefits communication rounds out the enrollment experience for employees. Along with enrolling employees in their benefits selections for the initial enrollment, new hires and annual re-enrollments, Colonial’s enrollers can help employees understand their benefits and the value of what their employer provides.
